Comment: Heavy cruiser CA-24. En route to Manila when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and was diverted to Australia. Participated in the Battle of Midway. Used in the Guadalcanal campaign. Decommissioned in 1946, she was used as a target ship in the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll.
