The Commodore 64 was a popular 8-bit microcomputer introduced by Commodore International (aka Commodore Business Machines) in January 1982.  Following up on the successful PET and VIC-20 microcomputers, the C64 utilized a modified MOS 6502 (the MOS 6510, which has an additional 8-bit I/O port) and 64 KB of memory, about 38 KB of which was available to BASIC.  During its lifetime, the C64 sold over 17 million units, at times outselling IBM and Apple computers.  More information on the C64 in general can be found on Wikipedia.

• The Hacker's Crutch – The Crutch was a suite of disk and programming tools collected by my dad, useful for BASIC programming, assembly of machine code, and disk management.  And, as evidenced by the name, it was sometimes useful for copying protected disks. :)
