Comment: A destroyer of the Wickes class, DD-115. Commissioned in 1918 and served briefly in World War I. Was in San Diego when Pearl Harbor was attacked, and immediately joined the fight. Antisubmarine duties and defense for our aircraft carriers, she was engaged in the island hopping campaign for most of the war. Decommissioned in 1945 and later scrapped.
